Inlet Trainee & Apprentice Program (ITAP)

The Inlet Dance Theatre Trainee & Apprentice Program is a progressive training program for serious dancers who wish to enhance their development and discover opportunities within the performing arts. This fee-based program is designed for individuals who are serious about dancing professionally or for preparing to obtain an undergraduate degree in dance.

Program includes:

  • Instruction in dance composition, improvisation, non-traditional partnering and other movement styles
  • Three days per week Hawkins-based release modern technique
  • Two additional technique classes per week designed around Trainee needs
  • Rehearsals with Inlet company members and Artistic Director


  • Performance opportunities

  • Focused mentoring relationships
  • Personal mission statement development, business administration and other related skill development
  • Winter and spring breaks
